Okoboji Bible Conference Aug 3-11

GROWTH!
That’s the purpose of this annual Christian gathering in Northwest Iowa’s beautiful lakes region. The Okoboji Lakes offer a family fun oasis in the middle of America’s agricultural heartland. Okoboji is a place to grow! You’ll grow in God’s grace, knowledge of Bible truth, and global mission awareness all while enjoying friendships new and old.

Every year since 1935 this late-summer gathering has served countless participants. It all started as a tent meeting and that tent meeting feel just won’t go away. Nobody wants it to. There is deep refreshing in ancient truth from contemporary Christian leaders joined by world-class Christian musicians and worship leaders. The takeaways are life-changing.

There is no registration fee. The Conference and related ministries continue by faith, depending on God’s provision through those who benefit. Donations are received to meet event expenses, maintain the campus, and support local, year-round ministries. To attend you need only care for your own transportation, housing, and meals (get additional info here). https://okobojiconference.org/

If you missed Conference 2018 be sure to watch THIS video for a peek at who was here and make plans now to join us for the 2019 Conference, August 3rd through the 11th.
*DVDs are available for most sessions. Inquire by calling the OBC Office. 712.332.2883

National Call-2-Fall Prayer June 30

NATIONAL PRAYER MOVEMENT
SUNDAY, JUNE 30, 2019

America needs change. Yet the change we need does not come from
Washington or Wall Street. It comes from God. It begins with God’s people
praying to Him for the change we need:
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and
seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven
and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14)

God promises real change – spiritual healing for our souls and our land – if we
will simply humble ourselves in repentant prayer before Him.
We have an amazing opportunity to join churches nationwide for the “Call
to Fall” on our knees. This call is nothing new. It follows many biblical and
historical examples that led to a national spiritual revival.

We have sinned and done wrong. We have been wicked and have rebelled; we
have turned away from your commands and laws. (Daniel 9:5)
God prescribes a very specific type of prayer that is a necessary prerequisite
to healing and renewal. He calls on us to fall to our knees before Him and
take responsibility for the state of our nation by confessing our corporate and
individual sins

Vacation Bible School – June 3-7

“TO MARS & BEYOND” – June 3-7 Vacation Bible School

3-2-1 is the countdown for the lift-off of the Rembrandt-Linn Grove area Vacation Bible School, “To Mars & Beyond.” Mission dates are Monday-Friday June 3-7. The VBS serves area children ages 4 through those completing sixth grade.

Our Mission Commander, his robot friend EP3-20, and all the Voyagers will “explore where God’s power can take us”. Along the way, we’ll experience cool music, exciting science, creative crafts, fun recreation, super snacks, and memorable Bible stories. Our mission will help us “go beyond” with faith, boldness, kindness, thankfulness, and hope.

Sponsoring churches are the CHRISM parish, Our Savior’s Lutheran, Rembrandt, Trinity Lutheran, Linn Grove, Immanuel Lutheran, rural Alta, and Riverside Evangelical Free, Linn Grove. All activities will be at the Rembrandt location, with classes running 8:30 am to noon each weekday. We will cap the week with an out-of-this-world community celebration service and lunch on Sunday June 9.

National Day of Prayer 7 pm Weds May 1

7 p m Community prayer service – hosted by Riverside Church
www.NationalDayOfPrayer.org

First of all, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life,
godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth – 1 Timothy 2:1–4
